Privacy Policy

Read this if you want to know what playmessy.com does with data. Sensory Play publishes messy and sensory play for children roughly birth to four, and this page covers collection, use, sharing, and your options.
Who Receives Data
The parties that may receive data are our hosting provider, any analytics service in use, the email platform behind the newsletter, and advertising networks where advertising is served. Advertising and analytics vendors generally act as independent controllers; the rest act as processors on our instruction.
What We Collect
Visiting playmessy.com may generate ordinary technical information — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages opened. Anything you type in yourself, such as an email address for the newsletter or a name against a comment, is collected only because you chose to provide it. Given what we write about, this is worth being explicit about: the audience here is the supervising adult, never the child, and we remove any submitted photograph or comment that would make a specific child identifiable.
Browser Storage
- Browser storage is dealt with in full by the Cookie Policy, including how to refuse it.
-
Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Email Subscriptions
Email goes only to people who asked for it, verified by a double opt-in step. Each send includes an unsubscribe link and a postal address, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away.
Our Use of Your Data
Purposes: operating playmessy.com; measuring which of our setup guides and taste-safe mixture write-ups draw readers; sending the newsletter to subscribers; and supporting advertising where it is displayed.
Your Control
Readers in the UK and EU have GDPR rights; readers in California and other US states have comparable rights under CCPA/CPRA and similar statutes. In practice this means you can ask to see, correct, delete, or export your data, object to certain processing, and opt out of sale or sharing for advertising. We honour Global Privacy Control. The State Privacy Notice and Do Not Sell or Share pages have the detail.
Children Under 13
Nothing here is directed at children. The site assumes an adult reader, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (16 where required), and any such data discovered is deleted promptly.
Holding Periods and Security
We hold data only as long as the purpose requires. Subscriber records end at unsubscribe; comments end at deletion; analytics follow the retention window of whichever provider is in use. Safeguards include access control and transport encryption. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we do not claim to.
